Jim Bostick
President
It has truly been my pleasure to serve on the board for the Dallas Hearing Foundation for over twenty years. My involvement predominantly comes from being the father of a daughter that was first diagnosed with a severe to profound hearing loss at approximately 1 ½ years of age. My wife and I, being young parents, had very limited exposure or knowledge of the impact that deafness could have on an individual’s life. The technology back then wasn’t near as advanced as it is now. After a lot of hard work and effort, my daughter attained her master’s degree and is now working as a licensed clinical counselor for the deaf, at a university in Washington, D.C. Today’s technology, along with the doctors, audiologists and speech therapists, can have a significant life changing impact on individuals that are deaf or have a severe hearing loss, if afforded the opportunity.
