Jenna

We began using sign language with Jenna during her infancy because we didn’t think she would ever hear or speak. When she was four years old we moved to Dallas so Jenna could receive a cochlear implant from Dr. Peters and Auditory-Verbal therapy from Linda Daniel. Jenna was implanted in March 2005. After a year and a half of hearing, therapy and following our home program, Jenna has amazed us all. She frequently tries to talk while she signs and occasionally talks without using sign language. She is growing in her ability to understand our speech without sign. She is now speaking in some three and four word sentences and is learning to read and write. We are thrilled with her progress and thanks to Dr. Peters and Linda Daniel we have a completely new vision for Jenna’s future.
